True Justice[?]

Why do we as human beings tend to repeat something in our heads if it doesn't sit well with us in the first place? Think about this question as you read the excerpt below. I was reading this book, which I advise everyone to read, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. The book is based on ancient Toltec wisdom--it entails a code of conduct that can be applied to all of our lives. End result--it's mind opening. 

Here is an excerpt:

True justice is paying only once for each mistake. True injustice is paying more than once for each mistake.

How many times do we pay for one mistake? The answer is thousands of times. The human is the only animal on earth that pays a thousand times for the same mistake. The rest of the animals pay once for for every mistake they make. But not us. We have a powerful memory. We make a mistake, we judge ourselves, we find ourselves guilty, and we punish ourselves. If justice exists, then that was enough; we don't need to do it again. But every time we remember, we judge ourselves again, we are guilty again, and we punish ourselves again, and again, and again. If we have a wife or husband he or she also reminds us of the mistake, so we can judge ourselves again, and find ourselves guilty again. Is this fair?

How many times do we make our spouse, our children, or our parents pay for the same mistake? Ever time we remember the mistake, we blame them again and send them all the emotional poison we feel at the injustice, and then we make them pay again for the same mistake. Is that Justice?

I shot this image as I was parking to meet family for dinner. The quality isn't the greatest considering I had used my old camera but I had to capture this image.

Sometimes I feel as though when God is bored every once in a while--he starts painting on his blue canvas--and the results are always divine.

Faith

When the world around you is darkening in on you--remember there is always some light fighting to shine on you. Just have faith.

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

Straight Path

Sometimes we go down a path several times and just have one thing set in our minds--our destination. It's always the same road, same posts, same trees, etc. but every once in a while we actually take notice of it.
I took this picture a few years back while driving down the road. Obviously not the safest thing to do considering to the left is a nice 300-400 meter drop, yet this time around driving down this all too familiar road, I had to slow down and pull my camera out and take a quick shot of it. To me the road had many stories to tell. So many different drivers going down that same road....with different thoughts going through their heads....some happy...some sad...some excited...some anxious to get home and go on with their daily tasks. I was headed home....I remember exactly what was going through my head right before I took this shot. Funny thing is every photograph that I've taken, I remember what I was feeling at that moment. I'm not referring to the hundreds of family/friends photos, but when I see something and actually feel it...not just see it...but to actually feel it in my soul. It's pretty amazing to look back at a photo that you took years ago and instantly remember what you were feeling and the thoughts that were running through your mind. This time around the path to my home was at the end of the windy road....only a matter of time until I reached my destination...my comfort zone.

Few twists and turns...but at the end...a straight path.
